Day 13 & 14

2 Days tour to Lu Lin Mei Ren Gu and a hike up the mountains

Departed from the school, we board a bus which took 4 hours to reach our destination. All our meals are provided and it gave us a new experience of having village food. There were more vegetables than meat, in addition those dishes all look "NEW" to us:) is it good or bad, it's up to your imagination lol.. Followed on was water rafting. For this activity, we had to buy a special kind of shoes which is known as "CAO XIE", straw sandles. After we put on our life jackets, there we go, 2 to a boat and we started our journey. For this activity, we were not allowed to bring our cams along, so there will be no photos, SORRY! The whole water rafting journey was about 2 hours, after that we were allowed to shower ourselves in the toilets provided. GUESS WHAT?? The toilets have no doors!! But with no choice, we had to bath, and WE WERE DAMN SHY!!! Overall, WATER RAFTIN IS SO SHIOK. However could have been better if it was natural and not man-made.

After which, we proceed on to visit the " MEI REN GU". It is a place with rapids and waterfalls, in conclusion a place with awesome sceneries. The photos shall explain more and better:) After this visit, we went to have our dinner and headed to our hotel rooms. The rooms are so awesome that we complain why aren't our hostels the same like these.

Our Hotel Entrance:)

Look at the BEDS! Compare with our hostel's MATRESS! lol.. The toilet is quite awesome too!

This is some cool shit that you will not be able to do in Singapore! FIREWORKS! The supermart in the hotel sell fireworks. It cost only 110RMB to set off a short display of fireworks. There are also other varieties of fireworks which cost even cheaper, 15 RMB. They were really awesome:)

A group photo after the firework displays:) CHEEZ!

Entrance of Mei Ren Gu.. The start of an exciting journey ahead:)

There are 2-ways of travelling..either by walking or by a manual bamboo boat. Look at the man with the stick. He is pushing the boat by walking to and fro. However, this costs 10RMB, so some of us decided to walk up.

Look at the colour of the water :0 pretty pretty

Mountains and water rapids.. PERFECT!!

WATERFALL! It's really cold and wet down there.. GROUP A YOU CAN DO IT!!!

TOTALLY AWESOME!!
LOVE THE NATURE:)

I love the scenery:)

GROUP A REIGN THE MOUNTAINS!!

I am so tempted to climb those rocks above me!! Typical Climbers Illness..

Even Mr Puah is indulging in the MEI REN GU natural beauty:)

A day of rest and we move on to hiking the next day after breakfast. Our task is to complete our accent to a mountain of about 800. The air of such heights is the best: so fresh and smell so nice. There were also thick mist so the photos we took might not look so good. It's the experience that matters:) The feeling to be at the peak is awesome! PHOTOS PHOTOS!!

My first accent starts here not counting Mount Faber lol:)

CLIMB CLIMB..but only with legs:) Can't wait to climb natural contour rocks..

GROUP A..still going strong aren't we???

Look at how steep the stairs are...UP UP and HIGHER...:)

The lecturers..enjoying their time here other than teaching..HIGH tea session:P

Almost at the PEAK!! I love the view though it's kinda misty..

BEAUTIFUL:)

Climbers just can't stop finding places to climb.. There are also times when climbers are afraid of heights espcially when there is not harness and ropes. The height from here is scary shit :0

CHEEZ:)

After the accent, we made our decent by bus of cos lol.. we were all so tired and we slept all the way on the bus after lunch for another 4 hours journey ride back to our hostels. This was a very meaningful trip exposing us to both the village life, and the beauty of nature. It will be an unforgetable trip for me definitely.

Day 12

Company Visit to Coca Cola Company

We set off early in the morning for a long ride to the factory. After we reached, we have to proceed to the conference room for a opening speech by the in-charge and to watch a introduction video. We were being offered to a glass bottle of Coca Cola each. After which, we proceed on to the factory tour behind glass panels. We were brought to view the water purification process, the washing of bottles under high water pressure process, the filling process, the examination process and the packing process. Lastly, we were brought to a room with different product displays and we were only allowed to take pictures here. The visit ended not long later. In my point of view, this is a very clean and structured factory. Their equipments are all from America.

After which, we went to bu xing jie for shopping!! We had our lunch at pizza hut today. This is my first meal that i ate so much, shared a 12-inch pizza with 3 ppl and we still ordered one pasta each.lol..We went to shop after that. I bought so many things that i spent 300 RMB in a day!!!I must save now!

Today, we took a ferry back. It's a new experience as this was the first time i see motorbikes and cars can board a ferry together with us. It was very crowded and there are no seats for us to rest too! Afterall, we can't expect much as the ticket only cost 1RMB.

Also, today i saw something interesting. A dog riding a motorbike together with the cyclist. We don't get to see this scene in Singapore.

Wuhan Coca Cola Company!!

Me with my free bottle of Coke:)

GROUP A!!

Mr Puah our lecturer:) BEST!

PIZZA!!

This is damn cool. It's a small little game which cost 1RMB to play. You pay 1RMB to spin the wheel and if you spin to a animal, the uncle will make out the animal using malt candy for you. If not he will give you a stick of non-designed malt candy.

Ferry:) Motorbikes and cars are allowed on board!!

Day 11

A Rainy Day

Today we have our IS at 815am. Our IS day here is on both Tuesday and Thursday. I quite like the content that is being taught to us in the IS lesson; it is something that we cannot learn and experience in Singapore. Today's lesson is on the history of China, talking about the different emperors, generals and scholars' success stories. I find them all really interesting. After that, we have our BPE lecture and tutorial. After lesson, we went to look for Xiao Ling Lao Shi to ask for the ppt slides for those IS lessons. I find that she really put in a lot of efforts in helping usto understand her lesson and ask if we find them from boring. She show us that she bought a lot of books just to line up our teaching materials and helped us gather all the bus numbers that we can take to travel around Wuhan and to the place we request for. THANK U SO MUCH XIAO LING LAO SHI.

For dinner, we took a bus to Xu Dong Da Jie to eat KFC. The KFC here has better menu than Singapore's. They have very ZAI egg tarts which i don't eat. Then, we went to WAL-MART to do our groceries; another supermarket that Singapore don't have.

For lunch, we went to a fastfood restaurant near our hostel. They gave us these dolls for free when we purchase a set. They are the BeiJing Olympics 2008 mascots. We plan to collect all 5 of them:)

The public bus driver; I still can't figure out how the bus work..lol..When i look at him drive, i feel so unsecure:(RECKLESS DRIVING!!!

A system similar to Singapore's Ez link card. However, it accepts both coins and notes and also scan cards:)

Customers of KFC: Suelyn, Me and Yining :p

Day 10

Lesson as usual

Unknowingly, i have already been here for 10 days. Time flies and everyday is passing so fast that we don't even know what day and date is it everyday. As usual, we had our BPE lesson, quiz and tutorial till noon and again, we have our lunch at the new opened canteen. After which we went to the computer town of Wuhan which is much similar to Singapore's Funan the IT Mall and Sim Lim Sauare. The whole building is filled with shops selling anything and everything about computers and electronic gadgets. The purpose of going there is to source for hard disks, MP4 and earpiece. Similar to Singapore, we must be aware of frauds and the warranty issues. One thing i really find it untolerable in Wuhan is that they allow people to smoke at shopping malls including restaurants. It is so inconsiderate of them to do that. For dinner, we went to Xu Dong Da Jie Shopping mall. The restaurant we went today is our first expensive meal compared to all others. However, inside, we can really sense their high standards of customer service.

Today, many of the vendors that we visited spotted that we were not locals and some even ask if we are from korea!!lol.. And when we say Singapore, i wonder if they really know where is Singapore. I guess our chinese is really bad that we don't sound local at all; at times, we even mix in some English to our sentence haha.

***The rain here plus the freezing strong wind is unbearable. SHIVERS!!!

Computer Town:)

We don't get to see this often in Singapore buildings :p

Xu Dong Da Jie Shopping Mall:)

High class restaurant with excellent customer service!!!

Dinner for today: OILY PIZZA!!!lol

Day 9

IS Lesson with Xiao Ling

Today we have a 815am lesson. Today's IS lesson is on the culture, history, places of interest, famous food, shopping malls and food paradise locations of Wuhan. Xiao Ling explain to us what is the history behind every places of interest and also what had the 2 opium wars caused Wuhan Hankou to become what izzit today. She also introduced us to many shopping places, where it is located and what public bus number we can take. On top of that, she also tell us which places have the best local delicacies. A few of us also asked her how to get to different places like the Wuhan zoo and for me, i asked her how can i get to Wuhan climbing federation. My fingers are really getting itchy that i really feel like climbing. I LIKE HER ENGLISH ACCENT A LOT!!!

After IS, we went for BPE lecture. Soon after, we had our lunch again at the new canteen. After tat, we continue with the tutorial and quiz 2. We also discuss on some points for our group video.

For dinner, again as usual, we went to the backstreet. I am really getting so sick of the food there. The food there is soooo oily, salty and full of MSG! I need to run MORE!!!!

Xiao Ling lesson is rather interesting:)

Day 8

1st Official BPE Lesson

Today is a study day. We had our lesson at 9am. I find that Mr Puah has a very unique way of teaching. He is the first teacher that i have met teaching a lesson use mind map style. I find that it is very useful and beneficial to me in helping me understand the topic better. We also had our first quiz today. The questions are structured in a way that it is not very straight forward and we have to brainstorm a little and prepare the notes the night before. We continue with tutorial which is a briefing on the guidelines of the case studies and we break off for lunch. For lunch, we went to the new opened canteen and the things they sell there are all teppanyaki style. After coming to China, i feel that the menu here are so hard to understand and read. We just order anything that sounds nice but we will end up eating something we don't like or not eating it. It's quite waste actually even though it is very cheap.

Are they really so hardworking or just for photo sake??? ANDY...lol

Mushroom Chicken Lotus Leaf Rice:) YUMMY! Only 5 RMB:p

Dinner @ a nearby Restaurant:)

Today is a very special day so we decide to have our dinner together at a restaurant. It's TEACHERS DAY!!!! So long since i ever celebrated teachers day. We helped Mr Puah and Mr Wong to celebrate:) They are both so happy too because it has also been long since someone helped them to celebrate teachers day. We brought them a small cake and treat them a sumptuous dinner. We ordered 7 dishes per table with fish, frog legs, vegetables, tofu, soup, beef and mushroom squid and all cost only 400 plus RMB for 2 tables. So each of us only paid 27RMB each which is equivilant to 6 plus Sing dollars!!!!

Sumptuous Dinner:)
