Day 19, 20, 21

Visit to the Famous Three Gorges

For 3 days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we went for a cruise to visit the three gorges. We had a 5 hours bus ride to reach YiChang City. We had a sumptuous lunch there and move on to visit the three gorges. We had a bus transit to bring us around the project area. There are a total of 3 destinations within the three gorges itself. After visiting all 3 of them, we went for dinner and board the cruise at about 9pm. The cruise was said to be a 4 star cruise but the standard turn out to be....not too bad la actually lol.. As i had a very bad sore throat that day, i slept rather early but before that, i also went to the top deck to enjoy the breeze:)

On Saturday morning, we had to wake up at 6am and have our breakfast at 630am as we had to leave for boat drifting at 7am. We had to have a ship transit which takes 1hour40mins to get to the destination. We went up to the deck to take some photos of the scenery and had some breeze and at the same time listen to the tour guide and took note of some history. About the drifting, the photos will say everything:) Afterwhich, we went back to our cruise to have our lunch and rested till about after dinner, we went uphill to a temple. There, we were told the history of many of the generals and some artefacts left behind by them. And after buying some souveniers, we went back up to the cruise. And all these almost mark the end of the 3 days 2 nights trip.

On Sunday morning, had breakfast at 7am, had our rooms inspected and we alighted from the ship and back to the place we board it. Board a bus to bring us to YiChang City for another bus transit to bring us back to our hostels:) Home Sweet Home finally!!!

This is taken before the start of our journey at the 3 gorges. A part of our group:)

The project of the dam. After the completion of this project, it will cause the water level of Yangtze River to rise causing all the natural scenary of mountains and vegetations to be covered with water. Thus, our visit there is to capture all these beautiful scenery and remember the history behind them.

Yipee!!!

It's nice to feel relax at times too:)

I can see that the olympics spirits are everywhere around China..even at the 3 Gorges:)

Helping the gays to make a heart frame lol :)

Look like HerGrey!!!Her laughter is horrendous:p Don't you think she look lik someone working in Macs???

Karen and I:)

This is the small boat that we are on. One small boat like this can hold a total of 17 people with 5 workers steering the boat:)

The guy in blue is the leader among the 5 workers steering the boat. They are all super duper muscular and you can see their muscles clearly defined when they their paddles are up!!!

The lady holding the loudhailer is our pretty tour guide for this water drifting activity. She did her best to explain to us everything about their culture and she even sang a few songs for us:)

This guy holding the loud hailer is the asst. leader among the 5 workers. It was his turn to sing us a song:)

At a certain part of the river, there are some rapids at the shallow waters that the workers cant steer the boat. They have to come down of the boat and help pull the boat, leaving the leader and the asst. leader on the boat to steer the boat a little. Looking at them do this ache our hearts. They work so hard just to earn such a small amount of money:( They used all their body strength to pull a boat of 19 people. Some of us even tipped them after we alight. THANK YOU WORKERS!!!

A pic taken with them..GROUP A:)

Thank you loads for your hardwork too:) GROUP A!!!
